5 Simple Things You Can Do Today for Local SEO in Thailand
Want your Thai business to show up better in Google search results? Whether you run a café in Bangkok or a dental clinic in Chiang Mai, local SEO helps customers near you find your website. Here are 5 super simple things you can do today, no expensive tools needed!
1. Claim and Optimize Your Google Business Profile
Make sure your business is listed on Google Business. It’s free! Fill out every detail: your opening hours, website link, business category, and even photos of your shop or office. Make sure your address is correct in Thai and English if possible.
2. Add Your Location in Key Website Places
Include your city or area name (e.g. “Bangkok café ” or “Chiang dental clinic”) in your page titles, meta descriptions, and even in your page content. Google loves clarity.
3. Add Local Business Schema to Your Website
Schema markup is a bit of code that helps Google understand your business details better. By adding LocalBusiness schema to your site, you tell search engines your address, business type, opening hours, and more — in a structured way. This can boost your appearance in search results and increase trust.
If you’re using WordPress with the Rank Math plugin, this is super easy to set up. Just go to the page settings and enable “Local SEO” schema with your business info.
4. Add Alt Tags to All Images
Google can’t “see” your images — it reads the alt text. Make sure every image has a descriptive alt tag. It improves accessibility and can even help you rank in Google Image Search. Bonus: describe what’s on the image and mention your services if relevant.
5. Use Local Keywords in Blog Posts
Write a few blog articles targeting your city or neighborhood, like “Why our Bangkok café only uses Thai organic coffee.” Mention your location naturally. It helps you show up for local searches!
